MISTICO HANGING BRIDGES WALK / LA FORTUNA - ARENAL

If you’re looking for a flexible way to experience the Arenal Hanging Bridges without joining a group, this self-guided tour gives you the freedom to explore the rainforest at your own pace.

The main trail stretches 3.2 km (2 miles) through the forest and is designed for a smooth and comfortable walk. Along the route, you’ll cross six hanging bridges and ten fixed bridges, each offering a different perspective of the jungle—from the forest floor to the treetops!

As you move along the trail, keep an eye on the rainforest canopy for wildlife and listen for birds overhead. You can also stop by the Rufus Hummingbird Garden, where these tiny birds often gather, and visit the Blue Morpho Waterfall, a peaceful spot to pause and enjoy the surrounding forest.

If you prefer a shorter walk, a 1.5 km (0.9-mile) route is available. For visitors who need assisted mobility, there is also a 250-meter (820 ft) accessible trail, so more people can comfortably experience this part of the park.
